A San Diego-based public accounting firm is is seeking a Tax Senior to join their team immediately. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage tax engagements with minimal supervision.
- Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing technical guidance and feedback.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, promoting long-term loyalty and trust.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of relevant IRC sections and proactively share regulatory updates with the team.
- Conduct advanced tax research using firm resources and apply insights effectively.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and related filings for assigned clients.
- Begin managing a “book of business” with increasing client responsibility and ownership.
- Identify training needs and coordinate internal or external learning opportunities for the tax team.
- Understand and apply firm policies and procedures with clarity and consistency.
- Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and effectiveness as assessed by firm partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4 years of prior public accounting experience, including complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns
- CPA License
- Proficient in MS Suite and QuickBooks
- Able to work additional hours between January through April and during extension deadline season.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Prior experience with real estate and high net worth clients, along with full array of entities
- Experience with Lacerte, Smart Vault, CCH
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and the ability to multitask
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000*
