Our client, a top 100 public accounting and consulting firm, is actively in search of a Tax Senior. As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for performing diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the supervision of a manager or partner. This role requires a strong competency in technical skills, work quality, and adherence to professional and firm standards.

This is a hybrid remote position, in which you will be required to go in-office on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager, or partner.
  • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards.
  • Direct and instruct assistants, where applicable, in work to be performed and working paper review.
  • Determine the extent of test-checking required in an audit and select the transactions to be tested.
  • Prepare and index working papers; perform various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles to verify the accuracy and validity of the client’s financial matters.
  • Prepare complicated tax returns and returns on dissolution or liquidation.
  • Suggest client tax planning ideas to a supervisor, manager, or partner.
  • Prepare routine correspondence to clients for approval and signature of a partner; write comments for management letters.
  • Supervise staff accountants and assistants with assignments, instruct them in work to be performed, review work done, and direct necessary revisions.
  • Occasional overtime work is required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work is required from January 1 to April 15 and may exceed 55 hours per week.
For background check purposes, material duties of this position include performing accounting, auditing and tax assignments, test-checking responsibilities, preparing work papers, verifying accuracy and validity of client financial matters, preparing tax returns, and supervising accounting staff.
 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3 years’ of tax experience in public accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Either hold a current and valid CPA license or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting.
  • Membership in good standing with the AICPA if licensed.
Salary Range: $79,000 – $85,000*
*The above represents the lowest to highest expected salary range for this job opening. We may pay more or less than the posted salary range, and the salary range may be modified in the future. We will consider job-related factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs when determining pay.

Non-base compensation: Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, dependent upon performance.

Benefits: Employees are covered by medical, dental, vision and life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in the company’s 401k plan. Employees will also accrue time off annually and receive paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
