Our client, a top 100 public accounting and consulting firm, is actively in search of a Senior Tax Manager. This is a hybrid remote position, in which you will be required to go in-office on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Review tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, and S and C-corporations
- Perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity
- Serve as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry
- Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate tasks to various tax preparers as necessary
- Assume client service responsibility for clients the Tax Manager works directly with or those delegated by the Partner
- Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations; may represent clients before appropriate taxing authorities
- Develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in recruiting, performance evaluations, training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional development programs
- Ensure smooth flow of tax returns through the preparation system for accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection processes
- Prepare reports and projects as requested by partners
- Research and evaluate tax preparation and tax research software for recommendations to partners
- Participate in the company’s practice development through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Active CPA license
- 7 years of experience in public accounting
- 2 years’ experience representing clients before taxing authorities
- 1 year supervising and directing work of tax preparers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Taxation
- Membership in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs
- Minimum of 40 hours of continuing education annually to maintain and develop technical and business skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of current tax laws
- Proficiency in tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software
- Experience with tax practice development and client relationship management
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Salary Range: $184,000 – $197,000*
