We are seeking a skilled Project Accountant II to join an award winning Construction Firm based in Sarasota, FL. In this role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing contracts and agreements for accounting-related information, preparing financial statements for projects, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
Review contracts and agreements to identify pertinent accounting information and ensure compliance with financial and risk regulations.
Ensure accuracy, proper coding, and approval of invoices for assigned projects, collaborating with Accounts Payable for timely vendor payments.
Manage subcontractor billing and payments through Textura, collaborating with Project Management for approval, billing cycles, and release monitoring.
Prepare and submit precise monthly reports to clients.
Assist in accounts receivable collection as required.
Monitor and oversee project-related accounts.
Facilitate subcontractor payment releases and lien management.
Handle weekly and bi-weekly job site payroll entries.
Reconcile owner billing with job costs accurately and promptly.
Support Project Managers with accounting queries and assist in job cost reconciliation for forecasting purposes.
Validate contract values and subcontractor compliance in coordination with the risk department.
Flexibility to travel and work at corporate or project sites as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
3 years of project accounting experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics
Proficient in Textura
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work as a team player to achieve results
Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000*
