Our client is looking for a Project Accountant to join their Accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, finance and contract administration duties for assigned construction projects. This is a great opportunity to join a tight knit, collaborative, and entrepreneurial team with a growing and well-established company. You will work closely with the Controller and CFO in their Los Angeles, CA office.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the construction team to develop, maintain, and update Snapshot construction budgets and schedule of values.
- Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and process them accordingly.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with contract terms and conditions, including bonds, insurance, waivers, and billing accuracy.
- Investigate unbilled project costs and reconcile as needed.
- Prepare and submit loan packages to lenders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Process bank reconciliations and journal entries for construction accounts.
- Coordinate and execute construction contracts in collaboration with the construction team.
- Manage vendor credit applications to ensure timely processing.
- Support ad hoc accounting tasks and project requirements as needed.
For background check purposes, material job duties of this position include updated construction budgets and schedule of values, reviewing invoices, ensuring subcontractor compliance, preparing and submitting loan packages, processing bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries, executing construction contracts and managing vendor credit applications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of prior full-cycle accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Prior accounting experience within real estate, construction, property management or related industry
- Proficient in JD Edwards and G702/703 requisition billing
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently
