We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client in Orange County, CA. This role will be responsible for processing union payroll for the company’s field employees, ensuring compliance with certified payroll requirements, and managing payroll submissions to regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with additional payroll team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Process union payroll for field employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle manual payroll entry from Excel spreadsheets into Sage 300 accounting software.
  • Ensure compliance with certified payroll requirements and submit reports to DIR and LCP Tracker.
  • Work with union agreements for carpenters, laborers, and cement finishers, ensuring proper wage and benefit calculations.
  • Collaborate with other payroll team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay.
  • Stay updated on state and federal payroll regulations to ensure compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ prior certified payroll processing experience.
  • Prior construction industry experience.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • High school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Sage 300/Timberline, DIR and LCP Tracker.
  • Strong understanding of union contracts and wage determinations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $31 – $37/hr (equivalent to $65,000 – $75,000). Overtime pay available.*
