A reputable and stable organization is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their accounting department immediately. The successful candidate will be to navigate critical collections scenarios to successful resolutions and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
Engage in professional and effective communication with tenants to ensure timely payment compliance and follow-up.
Contact tenants to collect payments on past-due accounts and resolve discrepancies, establishing payment plans as necessary.
Prepare and dispatch essential documentation such as demand letters and legal defaults to debtors.
Manage the collection, processing, and updating of tenant certificates of insurance.
Review the portfolio of accounts and issue monthly statements.
Generate progress and collections reports for internal meetings held monthly.
Prepare analytical reports on legal cases projections and collaborate with our legal team to allocate cases for legal processing when needed.
Maintain updated account statuses and document collection efforts, including comprehensive notes on amounts and delinquency.
Provide timely responses to all tenant inquiries, ensuring a positive customer service experience.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
3 years’ prior commercial collections experience
Proficient in MS Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in MRI or Yardi
Ability to reading and interpreting commercial retail leases
Outstanding customer service aptitude
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, with the capacity to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $72,000*
