A San Diego-based public accounting firm is seeking an Audit Senior to join their team immediately. Responsibilities:
Supervise aspects of the audit engagement including:
Planning, creating, completing and reviewing work papers
Writing audited financial statements and attending client meetings as needed
Help train and mentor junior staff
Supervise and mentor staff accountants to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
Build the foundation for strong, long-term client relationships.
For financial statement engagements:
Develop expertise in GAAP, OCBOA, specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentation.
Gain in-depth knowledge of GAAS and common audit procedures.
Manage both audit and non-audit engagements, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3 years of prior audit experience in a public accounting practice
CPA license, have passed the CPA exam or have requisite hours to sit for exam
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and QuickBooks
Ability to work additional hours during busy season
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience auditing not-for-profit and low-income housing entities preferred
Strong bookkeeping skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and the ability to multitask
Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000*
