A San Diego-based public accounting firm is seeking an Audit Senior to join their team immediately. Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise aspects of the audit engagement including:
  • Planning, creating, completing and reviewing work papers
  • Writing audited financial statements and attending client meetings as needed
  • Help train and mentor junior staff
  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
  • Build the foundation for strong, long-term client relationships.
  • For financial statement engagements:
  • Develop expertise in GAAP, OCBOA, specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentation.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of GAAS and common audit procedures.
  • Manage both audit and non-audit engagements, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
    • 3 years of prior audit experience in a public accounting practice
    • CPA license, have passed the CPA exam or have requisite hours to sit for exam
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and QuickBooks
    • Ability to work additional hours during busy season

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience auditing not-for-profit and low-income housing entities preferred
    • Strong bookkeeping skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and the ability to multitask

    Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000*

    *The above represents the lowest to highest expected salary range for this job opening.
