A privately held, San Diego based commercial and residential real estate company is in search of an Assistant Property Manager to become a part of their Property Management department. This company specializes in three areas: investment, asset management, and redevelopment. Our client prides themselves on being an inclusive work environment and offers a competitive total compensation package. This position is located in San Diego county, and requires full-time onsite presence Monday to Friday.

The job of the Assistant Property Manager will include working with a team and individually on daily tasks and annual projects related to property management, leasing, and maintenance, including, but not limited to:

Responsibilities: 

  • Rent Collections – monthly rent receivables
  • Delinquencies – collecting past due rents, maintaining communication with tenants and landlords
  • Maintenance / Repairs / Remodeling – ensuring work order and repair requests are processed in a timely fashion and communicated regularly to tenant and landlord
  • Rental Evaluations & Marketing Campaigns
  • Leasing and Contractual Agreements – showings, application review, writing leases
  • Tenant Move-in / Move-out
  • Resolve tenant complaints
  • Financials / Monthly Reports
  • Legal / Evictions
  • New property & client onboarding
  • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
  • Special projects, as needed
  • Directly assisting Manager and President
  • Periodically driving to site locations for quality control purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of residential or commercial property management experience
  • Including a minimum of one year experience in a customer service-related industry and one year residential leasing experience, OR 2+ years of a combination of accounting skills/education.
  • Applicants for the job must have a car and be willing to visit properties as needed.
  • Experience using property management software. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Budget preparation/financial reporting, familiarity with building systems, lease negotiation, and administration.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • AppFolio is a plus.
  • A California real estate license is preferred.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.

Pay Range: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour (equivalent to $56,160 – $62,400). Overtime pay available*
