We are seeking an Asset Manager to join a leading Orange County-based organization. This role will oversee a portfolio of properties, ensuring strong financial performance, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective long-term planning. The Asset Manager will focus on financial analysis, audits, capital planning, and portfolio oversight, while collaborating closely with property management, lenders, and community partners. The successful candidate will be able to balance strategic portfolio management with hands-on operational detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial performance of assigned properties, including monthly financial reviews, budgeting, cash flow, and reserves management.
  • Lead annual processes such as operating budgets, audits, site inspections, welfare exemption filings, and demographic reporting.
  • Manage relationships with third-party property management companies; provide oversight and ensure compliance with governing documents.
  • Support portfolio strategy, including capital planning, refinancing, limited partner buyouts, and Year 15 discussions.
  • Review partnership agreements, financing documents, regulatory filings, tax returns, and audits as needed.
  • Oversee capital improvement planning, reserve requests, and physical needs assessments.
  • Provide investor, lender, and agency reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in lease-up strategies, rent schedule creation, and compliance reviews for new developments.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives, including sustainability efforts and long-term property planning.
  • May supervise or mentor asset management staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in asset management or real estate finance.
  • Prior affordable housing experience, including knowledge of affordable housing programs, tax credits, HUD, and municipal financing.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and portfolio management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, or related field.
  • Experience with permanent supportive housing (PSH).
  • Supervisory or staff management experience.
  • Tax credit compliance certification.
  • Familiarity with Yardi or comparable property management/accounting systems.
  • Experience with capital planning, refinancing, and Year 15 asset management.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and portfolio management.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000*
