A Real Estate firm is actively looking to hire a Senior Property Accountant to join their organization. As a Senior Property Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing property accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the property accounting team. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform general accounting functions, including GL, A/R, and A/P processes.
  • Supervise and support property accountants, reviewing their monthly financial packages.
  • Prepare and ensure timely, accurate monthly financial reporting for assigned properties.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and GL activity reviews.
  • Coordinate equity and loan draw compilations with the A/P process.
  • Conduct monthly financial variance analysis and assist in preparing property budgets.
  • Calculate CAM estimates based on lease agreements and manage CAM reconciliations.
  • Manage tenant ledger adjustments, lease administration, and vendor billing/ledger research.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of quarterly debt compliance packages for multiple mortgage obligations.
  • Collaborate with property managers, tenants, and vendors on communications and leasing/accounting matters.
  • Assist with coordinating property audits, tax returns, and state/city filings.
  • Facilitate new entity accounting setups and monitor compliance with agreements (e.g., partnerships, loans).
  • Support processes related to property acquisitions and dispositions, including escrow and lender communications.
  • Coordinate transaction documents, signatures, and communications with partners, lenders, and legal teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in MRI or similar real estate ERP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of commercial property accounting experience, including experience in lease administration and CAM reconciliations.
  • Experience with AvidXchange and Rent Manager.
  • CPA or advanced accounting certification.
  • Prior experience with real estate transactions, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Familiarity with state filings, business license renewals, and property audits.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $100,000*
